In these hard times it is good to know that enterprise is still active in Darvel. Two new businesses have started trading  recently and this week:-

Royal India in Burn Road is a cafe serving traditional food from a full breakfast to bowl of soup then an Indian Busines lunch with three courses for £8 and at night a restaurant with an evening menu. See note from Mr. Findlay!!

Vintage and Modern on the Main Street is a shop full of surprises with new and second hand quality goods. It stocks a range of collectables and gifts. They will also buy in any interesting items and will offer the best prices

went into modern and vintage yesterday (great name) the owner let me have a sneaky peak as they are opening today.  got lots of lovely vintage things that I just love at great prices and very friendly owner, I was in my glory, lovely shop I really wish them the best of luck in the world and hope they do well and are well supported by the town.  The Indian restaurant we are trying out on Monday but if its anything like their takeaway it will be fab!!!
