Darvel Nursery School: Save our Head Teacher!

You may or may not know that East Ayrshire Council has put forward a proposal to get rid of Head Teachers within 11 Nursery Schools in the East Ayrshire area as part of their hefty budget cuts that have to be made.

The parents committee of Darvel Nursery School are united in their opinion that this is WRONG, and intend to fight the Council all the way on this proposal. We are calling for everybody out there to support this fight. Whether you currently have children at the nursery or have pre nursery toddlers or know someone who has then we want you to join the fight.

So far we have drafted a letter of objection for parents to send to the council, and have started a petition which is ongoing, also the Kilmarnock Standard has reported on this topic (issue dated 28th January 2010, page 3). We have linked with Onthank Nursery School (who are also affected by this proposal) and would like to link with any other nursery involved.
