Darvel Junior Bowlers

Undoubtedly the highlight of Darvel Bowling Clubs Finals Weekend was the final of the junior club championship. The two young players, Lee McGuffie and Liam Gibson, entertained the crowd with a superb display of their skills. Both boys consistently drew beautiful shots with Liam striking very successfully on a couple of occasions but it was the steady drawing of Lee that won him the game 21 -18. Lee has emerged this year in particular as a very promising young player, certainly the most improved this season. Liam, the defending champion, continues to show his potential with his mature play.
Well done lads you did the coaches proud! Thanks too to all the other juniors who participated in the earlier rounds of the competition.
The future of Darvel Bowling Club seems brighter with the high calibre of young players coming through in the Junior Section.
We look forward now to our end of season visit to Auchinleck Indoor Club which sadly brings to a close our activities of a very enjoyable year. This thriving Club has given young people a chance to compete and enjoy a healthy pastime proving it is not just for the "old folk".
