The Darvel Gala is going ahead on Saturday June 19 2010.
To make it the best ever the people of Darvel need to get involved.
Any local organisation or individuals who would like to take part in the parade should participate and enjoy themselves. If you have a vintage car, tractor, or just want to get dressed up you will be welcome.
The committee are looking for people to take stalls on the day, please contact Maggie Zimmer (322772), Katie Allan (320367) or Hazel Stenhouse (321426) for further details. There will be a Gala Dance on Saturday, 12 and more activities during the Week. The Skateboard Park will host an extreme sports Competition and hopefully more events will be put forward.
The next Gala meeting will take place at the Telephone Museum at 7.30 on Monday March 1. We will update details on this site and will welcome any contributions, ideas, suggestions and comments as we progress towards the events.

- How much are the stalls? Do we need any insurances or trading licences etc to sell goods or services at the gala day? I was thinking of having a stall doing glitter tattoos and maybe another selling children's clothes too - all brand new and labelled/boxed but I don't know if we need any special permits etc... It might be worth posting any details on here for us all to see as there might be other people reading this who would also like to give it a try as long as it's affordable and the red tape is not too restrictive? After all, an increase in the number & quality of stalls would benefit everyone and it might even encourage more people to visit and/or give it a try themselves... (there would be more revenue raised from the charge/rental of the stalls too so it really is a win/win)
