Building an owlcote, 2008-2010

  • The owlcote at Middlefield Farm.

John Oliver has posted a pictorial record of Hugh Hendry's project to build an owlcote at Middlefield Farm, with pictures by Ruth Tittensor (www.ruthtittensor.co.uk).

The owlcote was built over two years by Hugh and Pearson Park, with contributions from lots of local tradesman, the understanding of their wives and the help of dogs Hexa and Poppy.

John says: "Hugh hopes that the Owlcote will open to the public on Open Doors Day 2011. It is a magnificent structure and it will stand for years to come as a monument to the vision of one man his friends and family."
